ABA Therapy

Today your ABA therapist Jen said today was her last day...she's moving to go to grad school.  She helped you so much!  She had so much energy with you, you LOVED playing with her!  She was the one that came in with perfume on her sweatshirt one day and you immediately started stimming.  I told her I thought it was her perfume since you aren't supposed to be around that kind of stuff on your diet.  So she took off her sweatshirt right away and stuffed it into her purse and put it near the back door.  She also made a note that no one should come in with perfume.  I thought that was awesome of her to do that for you.  We're so bummed that she had to move on :(  Praying you get another great therapist!

Shopping

We were grocery shopping at Target and I accidentally ran the cart into the other aisle.  You went around to the front of the cart and gave it a kiss to "make it all better"  :)  We normally buy you a car every time we go to Target but we didn't this time.  You were fussing when we got into the car so I said what in the world is wrong??  You shouted "but you didn't get me a car!!!!!!"  Both Daddy and I said did he just say what I think he said :)  You are starting to talk so much more!

The other day we were at Grandam's house and all the cousins were over.  Uncle Joe gave you a really cool airplane as a present.  He sure loves you!  At first you didn't want to share your new toy.  Bethany was chasing after you trying to get it and you were running up the hill away from her yelling.  It was really funny!  But then Bethany got a splinter in her foot.  Grandma got a bucket of water and started washing her feet.  You shared your plane with Bethany all on your own since she was crying.  Then you helped Grandma wash her feet.  It was so sweet!  After that Grandma let you and Bethany play toys in the water bucket. Bethany was throwing all of the toys out of the bucket.  You were yelling no but she wasn't listening so you hit her on the head.  I had you say sorry and you said it!  Then I told you to give her a hug and you gave her such a sweet big hug.  Then you put your hand gently on her cheek and said something really sweet to her!  I wish we knew what it was.  I love seeing your sweet caring side come out!  Love, Mom

Autism Therapy / Speech Therapy

You've been doing speech therapy since right after your autism diagnosis November 2012.  You go twice a week.  You love to push the elevator button.  Your favorite therapist Miss Tracy is so good with you!  We've just recently started letting you go in with her by yourself.  You are such a big boy.  She warned us that kids usually cry for 3 weeks until they finally get used to it.  You didn't cry once!  Grandma and I sit outside in the hallway right next to the door so we can hear you.  We love to hear how great you do.  You are always making her laugh.  This last time we showed her how you can say your name.  She was so excited.  You've come so far my cute little boy!

Potty Training Day 1

Today we started potty training.  Every hour we put you on the potty.  You don't even object to sitting on there which is great.  I think it's because you get one on one time with me with no distractions.  Your new big boy undies are so cute!  We bought you "cars" undies.  Hopefully you will go easy on us with this whole potty training thing :)  Love, Mom
